For autistic people and those with ADHD or intellectual disability, mainstream sport and gyms can be noisy, unpredictable and discouraging. The result is that many miss out on the physical activity every body needs, and on all the confidence that comes with it.
Our exercise physiologists design individual programs that workwith each person’s sensory profile, interests and communication style. A session might look like an obstacle course, a dance party, a strength circuit built around a special interest, or a calm, predictable routine repeated until it feels safe, whatever gets this person moving, smiling and progressing.
Whatever setting works: our Nerangand West Ipswich clinics, your home, school or day program, the hydrotherapy pool(a favourite for many sensory seekers), orsmall group classes for social practice with peers.
Most neurodevelopmental clients fund sessions through theNDIS. As a registered provider we support agency, plan and self-managed participants, write clear progress reports for plan reviews, and coordinate with OTs, speech pathologists, psychologists and support coordinators. Parents andsupport coordinators can refer here.
Structured movement builds motor skills, strength and coordination, and research links regular exercise with better sleep, emotional regulation and participation. Just as importantly, sessions build confidence, many of our clients experience physical activity as something they are good at for the first time.
Sessions don’t look like a gym workout unless your child wants them to. We use games, obstacle courses, animal walks and the child’s own interests to hide serious therapy inside genuine fun. Programs are one-on-one, sensory-aware and paced to the child.
